Do you think that the violent content we see on TV in movies,on games and in the nature of toys can be a cause for youths getting more violent these days? In London, knifes and guns are used by teenagers in acts of extreme violence. Do you think the media of movies and the others mentioned above play a part in this?

Whenever there is exposure to things it becomes acceptable to the brain. The more it is experience the more 'normal' it becomes. If thildren, or anyone for that matter, is exposed to violence they will accept it and even participate. A person playing a violent video game, listening to a song about shooting cops and hanging with people who act violently can only fall prey to it themselves. It is a very dangerous world, but only if we let our children play in the dirt will they get dirtied by it.

True BUT it has nothign to do with the vid game or the music etc..it has to do with the ppl that person has surrounded themselves with.....

No no,I do not agree with Ravenladj at all,I have seen children imitate wrestling moves, call themselves the wrestlers. It is direct influence from watching it. I think kingcrapper is coming in from a very realistic perspective,if one is subjected to a certain form of influence, then they accept it. True, alot depends on good parenting but exposing your children to violent games is not good in my books, why violence, what seed are you sowing in them?

What we are surrounded by and subject ourselves to, we become.

No i don't believe that it plays a part. I have watched violent movies and played violent games my whole life even as a child and i'm not a violent person at all. I think it has to do with how the child is raised. If parents teach their kids that this is not the way people act in everyday life and that its not real in a movie o in a game then a child will understand that violence isn't acceptable.

I second you there, good parenting, talking discussing things with kids, great. What if there is no such guidance, what is the picture then?

Absolutely NOT....I think it all boils down to lack of decent parenting, communication, involvement with the kids and so on...Its far too easy for society to lay the blame on the movies, video games, shows etc etc when in all reality its the parents/caregivers and adult that are to blame....
My kids have been watching graphic violence in movies and on tv, playing violent video games etc etc since they where little but they are two very gentle, passive, sweet kids..
