When is your National Day?

Today is Sweden's National Day! June 6th! It is a national holiday, so no work today which means a long weekend, yeah! They only changed this a couple of years ago, people wanted the national day to be a public holiday, so they "removed" a holiday after Whitsun (then both Sunday and Monday used to be holidays and now it is only Sunday) so the national day could be a holiday. This caused a bit of argument because whereas the Whitsun holiday was always on Monday, which meant always a long weekend June 6th is different days different years! So you can get one day in the middle of the week of or even more importantly when june 6th is on a Saturday or Sunday you do not get any extra time off at all! How is it in your country?
