I look young for my age

I’ve been told almost, all the time, by people I am meeting for the first time that I look young for my age…haha I’m 17, I’m in college and they thought that I was like 15 or something and also that I was just in High School. They even think I’m younger than my sibling who came after me. She’s, in fact, 3 years younger than me. Mylotters share your experiences with what other people thought your age was. How did you feel about it?

I get the same thing. I will turn 36 this August. A lot of people still think I am in my 20's or still a teenager. This picture of me was taken 2 years ago.

...Hi Sensitive subject, but not when you are younger. I think that I look my age in person, but in my case, I do a lot of telephone work. Whenever the age subject happens to come up, people tend to think that I am 15 years younger, because I have a young sounding voice. It is flattering, but what does it get me? I think that as you get older, you realize that it is not the looks, which is great if you look younger than your chronological age, but more your health. if you are in good health, that means more than gold in the long run. Take care. Stay young at heart.

Well, back when I was younger everyone used to think I was older. Now that I am in my mid 40s everyone thinks I am at least 10 yrs. younger, and I am enjoying this. You will one day appreciate people thinking you look younger so never rush life, and enjoy it one day at a time.

People always think I look younger than my age too. It's normal because it runs in my mom's side of the family to look younger than your age. The worst experience was when I was 17 I went to a PG-13 movie with my friends and they asked how old I was and to see an I.D. I was really furious because they didn't ask any of the other girls but me. My friends all thought it was really funny though. Now that I look back on that I laugh a lot but at the time I didn't like it at all. Don't look at it as a negative thing because when we get older we will be the ones that are still hot, hehe.

I use to look young for my age, being short didn't help either. Anyway I now look old for my age (I definitley feel it with a child and hubby, 2 cats, 1 dog and a hamster). It only came to my attention last year when it was my sons christening and someone asked my sister if she was my younger sister she is 14 MONTHS OLDER than me so I was not impressed. I put it down to the fact she is divorced and got no kids ha ha!

that's great! it's will especially be useful when you are 35 - 40 years old. in that age, we will definitely need to look younger . i'm always considered maturer than my real age. i know they just avoid the word "older"

Well,I sympathize with you, really.Because I have the same experiences that you have,so I know clearly the feeling you have now.I am 22 years old and I am in college, however, people think that I am just 18 or 19 years old.I think thet we should feel happy and proud, because ww can become old more slowly than others!o(n_n)o...Do you agree with me?

I've been told a lot of times that I don't look my age. I'm 34 now. I really feel flattered whenever someone tells me that I look young for my age. They are often surprised whenever I tell them how old I am. I remember a few months ago. My stepdaughter, who is 15 years old, and I went to a beauty parlor to get a haircut, the beautician asked my stepdaughter if I was her younger sister. LOL, I really laughed as I told the beautician "actually I am her mom". Would you believe it? If you look at my avatar here, do I look my age?

I am almost 40 now but most people tells me I am not, I look younger with my age. Some people sometimes tell utter these words, "Is that your son, I thought he is your younger brother." Have a loot at my picture, do I look forty now?

Well, there is a dilemma concerning what people think of my age, when i was 19 years old if i did not shave, some people thought i was 23, if i did shave, i had the face of a young one, and they could get confused and think i am about 16-17 years old.

I completed 40 years, new people always guess my age as 30-32, nearly 10 years youngerthan my actual age. But there are some people who look older than their actual age.

People have always thought that i look younger than i am. I am 31 and have been told that i really don't look like i am that old. Most people think i'm generally in my mid 20s.
