FIREFOX ICON - CHOMPING THE E. It makes me laugh.

Firefox eating Internet Explorer - Mozilla Firefox eating Internet Explorer.

I love this new Firefox icon. It's time people changed their browser and had a go at something different. Internet Explorer surprisingly still has a market share of around 70%, way too high for a product that is not as good as it's opposition. Do you have a friend who uses IE, can you give them a hand to change over in case they need it? I mean who wouldn't like this furry sly animal on their destop?

I like living off the grid, thinking outside the box, and making my own decisions. It annoyed me that I was 'forced' to deal with all the pop-ups that go along with IE. I got one of those pop-up stoppers that used to 'shoot' them when they popped up. It'd be like bang bang bang bang bang then some would get through, then bang bang bang... it was insane! I couldn't do anything on the internet without being distracted by pop-ups. Then I discovered Firefox. I hate it when I have to use IE for anything, even as fodder for my sly little fox!

I've decided now that on principle I will not open any application that is not Firefox compatible. Bang bang

Hahaha! I agree... bang bang! I pretty much already refuse to go to any website that is not Firefox compatible, I mean it says something about the business or whatever, straight off without even having to waste your time with them to begin with... they're a$$holes!

Actually that icon has been around for quite some time. I agree firefox is a major step up from IE but its been having problems with the most recent edition: memory errors, addons consuming more memory, memory related crashes. Currently I've defaulted to Opera but still use firefox.

Good to see you, it's been awhile. I saw the icon for the first time a few days ago and jumped on it. I don't get out much! Hopefully Mozilla will do some fine tuning and fix their hiccups. Hoping the posts on Firefox will get some awareness out there and encourage people to step outside the square a bit. I'm a Firefox evangelist.

Q. How does one eat an elephant? A. One bite at a time. And about time, too.

Morning Tetchie! About the first thing I did when I got my new laptop was to install firefox! I do have Ie as well but very rarely use it as Firefox is so much more effective and quicker! I love the new icon - it is different from the one I have but I guess the icon doesn't really matter as long as the programme is so good! I would happily help any of my friends to change to and figure out firefox - although they would need very little help, as I know from helping some already! xxxx

Top of the morning to yee mummymo. Have to inform that the icon is not the professional one used by Firefox, it's a bit on the unethical side! It's their way of getting a message across and I just love how mischievous it is. Sooo pleased you can help other people out with the transition, a little education in the right places is such a plus and actually makes everyone feel good.

Because you are a respected Friend, I took the plunge and downloaded Firefox. It takes time to learn the ins and outs of a new browser, and I need help with the White Smoke add-on. This took my eye, but I've yet to make it work. Seems like they want money first? so wnats the catch with this, and is it really worthwhile anyway?

It's amazing how much faster and less complicated Firefox is. I had a hiccup with it yeaterday but it was a change I had allowed in a registry entry. Not really sure what it means but it stuffed things up. After running all my scans I deleted the action and now Firefox is running better than ever.

Hi there Tetchie! That's cute and funny. We have both firefox and internet explorer here in our internet cafe so that our customers have a choice on which they would like to use better.

Excellent to give choice, monopolies are not good, they keep people ignorant. Maybe you could have a Firefox awareness week. I'm on a mission to keep people from the dark side!

I've been using firefox for awhile. I've been told that you have fewer popups with Firefox. I think also Firefox does not make it a hospitable environment for viruses. That is worth alot.

It is worth heaps and heaps and heaps. I am so annoyed with popups, they make searching slower and I'm all for speed on computers.

Aww that's really cute! The older fox looked too tame compared to this. I use Firefox every day but I didn't notice the new logo until now. Thanks so much for sharing. It seems a little unethical though that they would attack Internet Explorer this way. Even though Firefox is reportedly safer and more virus free, I know a lot of people who continue to use IE especially the older generation. Many big companies, business establishments, and even hospitals are not aware of the benefits of using Firefox over Internet Explorer which is why I think IE is still on top. Give it a few more years and I'm pretty sure Firefox and IE will both have 50-50 market shares. :)

It is a bit unethical but I'm sure MS can take it, they are big boys. This is not the Firfox professional logo. The E eater is floating around myLot and other Techie Trails. I saw it for the first time yesterday and it made me laugh. I also wanted to make people more aware of the alternatives available, you know instead of being comfortable with a less effective product.
