an encounter with a crazy person

I took my toddler shopping the other day. He was in his stroller. On our way back, I was just getting to this busy street with pedestrian crossing lights when I caught sight of a woman loitering around the area. There was something about her that wasn't right. She saw me looking at her, and as soon as I got to the junction, she came and grabbed my right arm. I was a bit shocked not to mention a little scared. Unfortunately for me, the lights on the pedestrian crossing was red, so I couldn't escape. She looked at me and said 'please miss, give me some money, I'm very hungry'. I lied to her and said 'I don't have any', and she said again 'I'm very hungry'. I mumbled again about not having any money, and she finally let me go. For a brief moment, I wondered if she was a drug addict, but she didn't look like one, and she certainly didn't look like she was starving. I just thought there was something mentally wrong with her. She tried to grab hold of two men after she'd let me go, but they both manage to 'escape'. This incident was nothing compared to one I had more than 20 years ago. I was walking to the bus station with a whole big group of school girls, when this crazy guy came out of nowhere, punched me on my chest and walked away. I almost lost my balance but luckily didn't fall. I was shocked not to mention in a bit of pain. There was eerie silence around me at that point, but when I finally smiled out of embarrasment, everyone around me starting laughing as they thought it was funny but of course I didn't think it was. Has anyone ever experienced stuff like that?
