Pitt Bulls

June 6, 2008 4:32pm CST
I just recently got a Pitt Bull puppy and he drives me insane. He keeps chewing on my hands, he won't leave my friends alone when they come over, he escapes from my backyard, and he doesn't listen. If you own a pitt bull please tell me if they get better with age or any training tips you may have.

misunderstood sweetness - Pitbulls are so misunderstood. It isn't the dogs thatare bad it is the owners who train or do not train them.
We were lucky with our pit i think he was born dumb. lol but really call your nearest pet mart or pet trainer for tips or take them in. Need to get him now while he is still young so that when he is older he doesn't get out of hand. This are awesome dogs that have a bad rap due to lack of training or trained to be bad.

get to a trainer for dogs, and get him in training.

I want him in training but my husband wants to train him as a police dog. I am not sure that he has the attention span to do it. And like you I believe mine waas born dumb as well. lol

A Pit huh? Be careful with those. He's going to need a lot of training, especially since he's male. And that's a good thing that he's still young so you can teach him manners right away. I see he doesn't listen to you. That's something that you need to change and quickly. I would sign up for a puppy class so he will become comfortable around people, dogs, and loud noises. I hope this helps you.
