So, I'm a member on Shoppers' Hotline. It's a wonderful program where you scan your groceries and send them the scans each week. In return they give you points to redeem for cash and they enter you in their quarterly sweepstakes to when prizes.
I searched the discussions, but no one mentioned this program. Who is a member of Shoppers´Hotline? How do you like it? Have you ever won anything with Shopers' Hotline? Are you wanting to learn more information or wanting a referral? Send me PM for more information.
Basically you call a toll-free number (I believe the program is for USA only, sorry) they ask you several questions. Then in about two to three weeks they ship all the stuff for free which includes their hand size scanner (with detachable USB cord), CD software and instructional booklet. I believe you have to run Windows XP or Vista (I believe it can work with Mac computers but I'm not 100% positive)..you hook up your scanner the first time then you install the software on your computer. The program will ask you to connect to the internet to set up the scanner. Then, you can set the scanner in your kitchen (they give a little base to hold it in) so you have it ready. They give you the two AAA batteries that you need and the USB cord. It's a wonderful program. (Just like myPoints---you can look at my other discussion in regards to that). Have a nice day.

Well I would love more information on this. Does it go thru your phone cause did this once and well it would never transmit thru my phone? And how much does it cost to sign up and/or get the equipment?

Hello! Ooops, thanks minnie. You mentioned the part I forgot to say. It's free. You don't pay for the equipment and there is no membership fees. The only thing you do pay for is the two AAA batteries that the scanner takes. When you first join they give you the batteries but after that you have to buy them. You can get them cheap at Dollar General.
Then after you set up your scanner what happens is that each week (generally on Saturday) you hook the scanner to the computer then you run the shoppers' hotline program. Then you select the option "transmit data" on your scanner and then you press the "go" button on the shoppers' hotline program. After that it transfer it via the internet. So you can use dial up, dsl, fios, satellite, cable etc...whatever your internet connections. You just wouldn't be able to use it without the internet or without a computer (like WebTV wouldn't work). If you think your really interested I can PM you with the information. You have a wonderful day.

That sounds pretty cool. it sounds like you can get paid for shopping. It's amazing what people will pay you to do. i'm currently getting paid for sending in credit offers and junk mail. I also have been paid for eating soup and for making a recipie.

Yes, they do. It's some money...not too much, but not too little. Every little bit counts, right? Hey, I did a survey with Synovate about credit offers. While they didn't pay me they let me choose a year magazine subscription for free. You don't know me, but I LOVE magazines. I chose Esquire and it's really cool getting it in the mail. I'm a member of mypoints, and surveyspot as well. If you would like I could send you a referral there. You have a wonderful day!
