My best friend and her whole family is migrating to Canada in a week or two and this saddens me a lot! She is one of the best friends I have and our friendship is closer than that of a sister. But, somehow despite the sadness... on the other part of my heart I felt I should be happy for them because they are already assured of a greener pasture and hence good life for the kids and the whole of them. Anyway, modern technologies can still keep our communication going but really there is no substitute to having you best friend in flesh and could go with you everywhere you need her....whether be it in ladies night out, shopping, parlor, etc. But, sighhhh!!!! what I can I do but keep the happy memories and pray for her and the entire family.

Yes, I certainly understand how you feel about the best friend leaving to a far place. Then on the other hand, it is a good news that she is leaving for a wonderful country. You can keep in touch and keep the true friendship you have with her, and that will be forever.
Best wishes to both of you !

You are right. You should be happy for them. They are assured of a greener pasture and a good and safe life living and working in Canada. Its one of my dream also, hopefully soon.
Anyway, don't worry at least your best friend is leaving you for the good of the entire family. And I'm happy for them.

no one will be glad to have their best friend far from them,. but we are somehow happy for them 'coz they have fulfilled their dream..it is sad but we cant hold them because we need them right? but that will be so selfish of us if we will ask them to stay right? let us just be happy for them and continue our friendship.

I think you should be grad that your friend could mirgrate to Canada!
Maybe ,first days you will so miss your friend ,however, now the communication is so easy, you could always talk with her by phones and mailbox or other ways, besides, when you really want to see her, you could travel there with her!

Hang in there my friend, ..It is so hard to let go at first. But as soon as you decided to let go, and for her own happiness. It will be over soon. Don't be sad, You two still can be connected trough Internet and call. May be she will come and visit one day? who knows.

i would be glad if one of my friends will migrate, just like you said there are more good oportunities there so it is a very good step for her. one of my best friends migrated to australia a year ago. we chat every weekends and i feel like she is here for we can still communicate and see each other on webcam. lucky for us that there is already a cool way to communicate with relatives and love ones who are living abroad. when i was a teen i have a lot of friends who migrated and i no longer dont know where they are.

I would really be very happy if my best friend or even my friends would be able to grab any opportunity for greener pastures. My best friend moved to the United Kingdom in 2001 and has been there since. Well, she comes home from time to time and when she does, we spend most of our time together. I was sad when she left but I knew that she will be happy there. It's great that we have good technologies that allow us to communicate with them the most cost-effective way. But then again, I agree with you. There is no substitute to having your best friend in flesh!

my best friend migrated to canada 7 years ago. we became friends in 1987 and from that time on until the day he left, we never missed a single day of laughter. its really sad that he must opt on such an important decision in his life for their future sake. months after they left, he was already convincing me to follow coz he knows how life is here in our country. i just cant decide yet coz i really believe that there is much more in our country only if dream is done with perseverance and enthusiasm. we often communicate thru ym and exchange stories on our experiences after moving lives of our own. :-)

hello salonga! i know the feeling you are experiencing right now! my bestfriend too migrated to Canada last 6 years ago. before she left, we hang out and enjoy the remaining days we're together!
sadness will be for the mean time. as like you have said technology will let us bridge the distance... most of the time, we talk through Yahoo Messenger. we send emails, send messages on friendster. and at times she called me on my mobile phone.
it is really hard to find a true friend. but of course we have to be happy for them that they have this opportunity.

hello salonga, just be glad that your best friend is now going to Canada for a better life. It true that it's hard and it saddens someone to be left here, but the same goes to your best friend. For sure she will miss a lot about you, her family who will be left here in the Philippines, and the memories that she had here. You could still get in touch even everyday anyway and take advantage of technology to keep the both of you in touch all the time.

I know you will be very sad because you friends will migrate to Canada because he/her is your best friend. You can keep your happy memories but not sad memories in your heart. You can also connect with each other although he/she is far away from you...Or in holidays, you can visit your friend who is in Canada
