Well....I think this is might cool. When I read something like your post I get excited. I see me many years ago. I see a person coming to a crossroad, you are teetering on the edge, which way will you go? I was taught, and not taught many things when I was a child, mostly I was taught bad stuff. I came to a crossroad too. Since I am a christian I would tell you to get a bible and start reading in the new testament. Don't expect to really be able to understand it all. Some of it just doesn't make any sense at the begining. But it does say 'Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God' So as you read, your faith will start to really be stirred up. If you really want to know, I mean in the deepest recesses of your heart. God will give you what you need. Talk to him, tell him exactly how you feel, what you want to know, what you need to know. Jesus said if you knock, he'll answer, you can hold God to his word. You can question him. He knows exactly where you're at in your life, what brought you here, why you're asking what you're asking. But you have to ask. As long as you ask truthfully. Even something like 'God I don't know if your real or not, help me to understand' because if you ask it, your practicing faith. And faith pleases God,

i have an even better scripture for you. Romans 1:20 says "For his invisible qualities are clearly seen form the world's creation onward, because they are perceived by the things made, even his eternal power and Godship, so that they are inexcusable" so i definitely believe that God exists. i agree with you that reading the bible is an excellent starting point. I do so every day. But just reading it and believing what it says is not enough. in order to be acceptable to him you also have to learn what he expects of you. you also have to learn how he wants to be worshiped and not expect that you just believing and being a good person is enough. its not the only thing he wants. he also has requirements that he expects people that want to serve him to meet. and if you don't read and apply what your reading then the simple act of reading is just simply not going to do anything.

Hi Palmer, Let me see if I can do this without infuriating anyone. First of all, because I am a christian too, and I believe on what Jesus did on the cross, I believe the only thing that will make me acceptable to God first and formost, is the blood of Christ. I believe His blood is what blots out what I truely am. I am a creature that was born into a condition of sin. After I accepted Christ, I was made presentable to God. Now, this isn't a reflection on anyone else. What Jesus did on the cross is what saved me, not anything I did, all the good things in the world I do or try to do isn't going to amount to a hill of squat. It took along time for me to understand what justification verses works meant in the book of Romans. I am justified by what Jesus did, not by what I did or do. It stands to reason that after I accepted what he did, that I would go through a gradual change. If I lied before, I don't lie anymore, if I stole, I don't steal anymore. If I was a gossip box, I stop it. There all kinds of precepts and things taught in there that are good. But for me to do, or try to do any of them without that precious blood. Well it would all be for nothing. I finally came to understand that I am to do good, but not to add it to what He did on the cross, what he did was sufficiant. The only reason I say to start with reading is because it says in the bible 'Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word' I don't know how a person can come to God or accept him without faith. Well it says in there that he who comes to God must believe that he is God. And it says faith pleases God. From my own experiences I've found that if I'm floundering around out there, and pick up the book, read, my faith just jumps to new hights. Without reading, my faith grows weak. I need to eat from the word of life. What Jesus did is enough, if I accept him, and then start adding these works to my salvation, I would be saying 'Jesus, what you did on the cross was good, but not good enough to get me into heaven.' I do what I can to grow and learn because it's good for me, and hopefully good for those around me, maybe spark a little hope in someone. If your a new creature in Christ, your going to change anyway. Or we should. Our thinking and behavior will start changing don't you think? I'm sorry Palmer, I know I have went off into left field with this, but as a christian yourself I know you know how easy it is to do. Sorry if I have annoyed you.

Science has evidence that our whole universe began at one point, The Big Bang. So before that point, there was nothing but a point mass. There was no matter, no force, nothing. Suddenly out of nowhere, the big bang happened and matter started flying out of nothing. There are so many conditions necessary for life other than just oxygen and water ( I can't remember them, I read an article a while back). The probability of everything happening the way it did and leading to life is 0.00 followed by another 120 zeros.(According to a math professor from The University of Adelaide)(This is from memory, but it could be more zeros). The professor himself acknowledged that this must be the work of a supreme designer(God). After all, how can something come out of nothing?

i believe in God because HE created the earth and everything in it, but humans destroyed his good and perfect work. that is why we are seeing so much mess in society all over the world. GOD creates peace, love and beautiful things for us to enjoy, and humans destroy it with greed, corruption, hatred, war, politics, and other garbage... everyone has their ongoing war inside them...peace vs war...love vs hate...beautiful life vs destructive life...everyone has the choice and they make their own decisions in life...God just gives you the options and you make your own decision of how you want to live your life.

I don't follow the Bible, as I am Pagan. I believe in the existence of many Gods & Goddesses. I try to be a decent person, live a good life & keep karmic backlash off my tail and that should be good enough for anyone. Your beliefs are your beliefs & whatever they =may be, they're right for you. No one can tell you what to think if you have free will of your own. If you don't, you might as well be a sheep.

If you can get a copy from your local library or buy it, I recommend reading "Conversations With God" by Neal Donald Walsch. It will change your life and your thinking about God. There are three books in the series, but definitely read at least the first one. Is there a God? Well, somebody or something created everything around us, right? Whether you think of God as being a person or an energy, something created this world. But I don't think we can assign human characteristics to anything that could create a world like this. God is not some "big daddy in the sky".

The essence is to be good irrespective whether one beleives in God or not .It is not great when you can worship God but show no respect to other human beings .Lets imbibe the love and care for our near and dear ones so that we become a complete being worth its accolades in the planet . with regards www.chocolatesavy.com

Yes, i believe in God, God is only the supreme power which is above you to activate you and your entire activities. We are all dancing for his (God's) tune. God already blessed every God, for our life, whether its good or bad situations. I believe that God have decide all the Ups and Downs of your life. He only decide your pasts, he only running your present, and also he is one and only will decide your future.. if you believe it or not.. this is the true..

I do not believe in the existance of one God. I do believe that there are forces that intervein in our everyday lives. For example years ago I read a book called the Secret. I followed its theories of for example being thankful for the things you have and things that come to you. Within 6 months almost everything I was being thankful for was taken away from me. I was thank ful for my car-and the engine blew up, I was thank ful for my job- and lost it, I was thankful for my home - and almost lost it until I got mad one day and basically told the universe to go straight to hell. I now am very careful not to be thankful for anything. Things got back to normal, and it is not that I do not appreciate what I have. In our world babies suffer, adults suffer with disease and famine. The bible talks of a merciful god..I am still waiting to hear from him or her on these issues because if there is such an entity I hold them responsible because they take responsibility in the bible for all things. I feel much safer winging it on my own than looking to something that seems vendictive in its everyday showing of its influence on the world.
