get 30% discount on the items bought.
I was at a health pharmacy earlier today to get a personal stuff of $6.90 and then was approached by a sales girl to contribute to the charity drive.
Here's a scenario where there I stood and I thought to myself, I am here to get an item of $6.90 and then if I foot out another $10.00 to get that 30% discount of that item - the whole total will be $14.83 that I have to pay!!
I have nothing against giving donations and I do charity from time to time. But this made me think isn't giving donations ( monetary, time, energy or other means )suppose to be up to the individuals to give what that they could afford for?
I feel it's not right to combine a charity drive with profit gain in mind. Infact whether a customer donate or not they still should be given the concession on the items bought.
What do you fellow Mylotters think ? Do you have something similar like this been happening at your place?

I don't think that's a good way to approach a olleciton for charity. It a trange way and place to ask people for money really!?

Hie Phlamingho, I thought so too and it has been happening here. One of their marketing strategy no doubt and I do hope most people will come to realize how unethical it is. Perhaps with a bigger "voice" it would help to put a stop to this.
