How come men never marry their momma's...?

I just posted a discussion on the saying that women often marry men like their dads. How come we never hear about men who marry women who are just like their mom...? Men are often very attached to their mothers so one would think they would look for a wife who emulates their mother's traits...yet, I haven't heard that said to be the case. What are your thoughts on that?

I thought your discussion was called "how come men never marry their mommas" when i first took a look at it. Although, there have been situations where the child and parent have been attracted to each other; but it is illegal in most countries and is often referred to as insest(in-sest). Anyways, for your topic, i feel that not all mother's are alike and usually if the parents make bad decisions or are abusive in some cases, the child would not want to marry that trait.

Whether they marry women with traits like their mothers or not, they always try to turn their wives into their mothers later. I can't tell you how many times my hubby has told me how to cook or clean something another way followed by the comment "....that's the way mom did it."

Actually i think that some men do marry women that have some traits that their mothers have. However it is usually traits that he liked unlike women that marry men like their fathers trying to get approval that they could never obtain from their actual father.
