did you know that a court in Bitola Macedonia, convicted a bear for ruining a beekeepers apiary and causing $3000 in damages? what do you think about this?

I think that's completely absurd. What are they going to do- make the bear repair the damage or do community service? Also, you can't really fault an animal for its natural behavior. A beekeeper should be aware that there might be a slight bear problem in the business. It's not that hard to build a sturdy fence or some other protection.
