HAVE YOU EVER THOUGHT WHAT REALLY MAKES YOU HAPPY? Happiness has generally been treated as a goal in life: We always say I want more money, a better job, find the right partner in life, then I'll be happy. But in reality, it is being content with where you are. True these goals could make us happy but only for a while. Why? More money? There is never enough. You'll always need more..A better job? Yes a better pay but also means more responsibilities and limited vacations.. Finding the right partner? With more and more couples getting divorced? That is obviously not the answer to happiness either.. For me, CONTENTMENT IS THE ANSWER TO HAPPINESS.. But it doesn't just mean to accept your life the way it is. It means being responsible for your attitudes and the choices you make. I would like to share my thoughts on how to achieve total happiness.. Find contentment in where you are right now. If there's no way that is humanly possible, explore other options and try to make changes. Don't just complain about it rather do something with it. If theres something missing in your life. Find a way around it. If it's children, try to enjoy the children of your relatives or friends. It's not the same as having your own, but the joy you'll find is superb. Don't rely on others to make you happy. Being happy is a responsibility to oneself. Try to have a deep relationship with God and stop believing that job, money, a partner and anything else from the list that you want will make you happy. Surely you will be unhappy sometimes being single, but not having that special someone in your life can project feelings of inadequacy. Being married or having a partner doesn't guarantee happiness. Loneliness is not all bad. Being lonely doesn't have to mean that you're unhappy. Its fine to be lonely sometimes and then get busy. Besides being alone and lonely gives you time to solve problems and rethink priorities in life.. Call on God. Tell Him everything you feel. He is always in touch with your struggles and know where it hurts. God will always be your best friend to lean on. To sum it all, commitments, attitude, your extended family and friends and your relationship with God, all of these equals to contentment. If one of these is missing, try tweaking each one of them. Eventually all the pieces will fit and you will be contented, then you will be happy. Most of all, live your life fully that there's no time for self-doubt and loneliness. Whatever your circumstances, throw your whole heart into them. Enjoy life! So know.. Are you really happy?

I'm still trying to find my way of being happy ...always. One philosopher said, the moment you say 'I am happy'..you would stop being happy.

Hi p_vadla! In life there's no guarantee that you will always be happy. Struggles, sufferings, loneliness is a part of life. You will never know the true meaning of happiness if you won't experience these things.. Remember, there will always be ups and downs in our lives. So don't try to be happy always. You will only get frustrated. And that will only make you sad.
