On my laptop I have Windows 2000 professional. It starts extremely slow because of all the programs that start with Windows. I have looked all over, and have searched the net and cannot find where to stop this. It's completely different than my desktop, which runs windows ME. Can someone tell me where to go to stop all the programs that are starting up? Thanks in advance :)

I think you can't run the command "msconfig" through RUN when you're using windows2000. What you can do though is use the command "services.msc" through RUN. From there you can disable the programs and services that you don't want to run at startup. Hope that helps.

Thanks. You're right, "msconfig" didn't work. I appreciate the help.
