Hospitals - Do You Feel Safe?

Philippines

I just read a new from the internet today that caught my attention and get me scared. The headline was entitled 'Manila Hospital Unit Closed After 25 babies Die'. Pretty scary right? The report says that the 25 babies died of blood infection. Further reading the story, I learned that 45 babies contacted neonatal sepsis last month from the said hospital. Neonatal sepsis could occur if the mother had poor immunity to diseases or did not undergo prenatal checkups. Another cause would be unsanitary hospital conditions. Although the case is still on-going investigation, such a story would be a shock to every one. Any feedback?

I would feel really afraid to go to that particular hospital myself. our hospitals here in the US are really pretty safe. My closest hospital is Western Medical Center and the few times I have been a patient I have had the best of care. no hospital should ever have unsanitary conditions in it ever. Hospitals have an obligation to their patients to be a safe place 'to go for medical care.

Hi hatley, the case is still under investigation and yes it really bothers to have such like these happening in places where we should feel safe in the first place. Have a great day!

I feel somewhat safe when going to the hospital but other than that I really just dont like them period. The reason I dont like them is because going to the hospital usually means something is wrong with you whether you're really sick, broken something etc. The thought of any of that just.. bothers me for some reason.
