My husband is not at home today, so i went to a snack bar to have a bowl of vermicelli soup with solidified duck blood as my supper food.Though it is cheap, only 3.5 RMB,just about o.5 dollars ,it had so delicious taste that i even wanted another bowl. Duck blood? so crazy!Don't be afraid .This kind of soup is not totally what you imagine.Let me tell you in more detail. It is a famous delicacy of Nanjing in Jiangsu Province. There are various materials in it,such as solidified duck blood, bean-starchy vermicelli, duck intestines and coriander. What must to be emphaiszed here is the duck blood is solidified to be tender and smooth. So it is peifect in color, aroma and taste. If you come to Nanjing ,I will invite you to try to have a taste.I'm sure you will like it and say "So delicious!I want another bowl!"

hi my friend,i do like such solidified duck blood.i can imagine how delicious it is.if i have the chance to nanjing,i'm to try it surely. but i'm afraid many foreign members here can't accept it.i ever started a discussion called 'do you eat animal blood?' here and i remember one of my friends said 'I will not eat it unless it's the last food that's left on earth'. though we think the solidified duck blood is delicious, they do unable to accept it. that's what we call culture difference.

You are right! Culture difference is inevitable .When i was typing this discussion ,I foreseed that there must be many people that couldn't understand and accept this food. Althoug it is difficult for them to accept some special chinese food ,I will try my best.Because it is delicious indeed.

It's incredible how different our tastes are from east to west. I can't imagine eating duck intestines. When my husband goes duck hunting, we throw the guts away before the bird is eaten. I would like to try some of what I consider exotic one day.

Hie Run, I can imagine how it taste like...soft, tender...It might be considered as some kind of exotic food to the westerners for sure, anything dealing with blood they will be curious and mystified. But to us is a norm thing and I love it very much. I used to have a lot of them but chicken's as my parents had rare them years ago. And I loved those fresh chicken eggs where is a rare thing nowadays. Those time we were having this with soy sauce and rice porridge, it was so simple but yet delicious. Here the hawkers sell them ( chicken ones ) in rice porridge dishes mix with pig intestines and organs, coriander leaves, pepper. It's best taken on a cool evening or after a raining day. Talking about this, it is making me real hungry now and moreover I haven't eaten this for a very long time now. Guess I will be looking forward to this cuisine soon.
