Is myspace good for promoting your business?

Has anyone really had any success promoting their business/ blog/ site on myspace? If so, how? They deactivate all your links if you send messages or post bulletins, but are there better ways to get people to go to your site from myspace?

I have an acct set up for my business and add friends to promote it. My business is only local and I only add friends who are local. i use the bulletins and event invites to promote certain events and specials we are having with our business. It has helped to get us out there an get people interested in what we are doing. We don't use links in our bulletins but we have the website link on our homepage for people to check out. But the majority of people interested in our products will just PM us from myspace.

i have just set up a myspace, and want to use it for this reason also,, just having trouble starting to make my page look like i want it too.. waiting for my college student to come home and help!
