I don't think I have yet recovered from my first heart break. I still feel lots of hurt and sadness over it. Especially when he told me that it meant nothing to him.

I suppose that is according to how you define recover. I think it is often like a scabbed over cut. You can always go back and peel the scab off and it will bleed again.

I was young, like 15 or so and had been totally head over heals for this guy I grew up with. We dated for about a year, but we went to two different schools so it just didn't work out. It took me until high school to really get over him. I still think about him often and I'm 25 now. The hurt goes away, but the love stays with you.

i was with a guy for 4 years and he truly broke my heart. he cheated on me and I even found out he wasn´t the person he set out to be. he had kids I didn´t know of, was divorced at the age of 24.. anyways it took me a looong time to get over him and it... To gain trust again was the most difficult part. My boyfriend of today has worked hard to gain my trust :-)

I do not think that you will ever completely get over your first love. That is if it is true love. I feel in love at 18 and had a on again off again relationship with him for about 2 years. It has been 4 years and he is married to someone else but I still care about him even though I have moved on. I know I will always love him but life moves on. I think that is the way it should be.

I felt a lot of hurt. I still do not think I am over it. I am now friends with the guy and I asked him why, but he says he was stupid and regretted it. And he doesnt know what he was thinking when he screwed things up. I guess it makes me feel better that after so long he still thinks he screwed up and he regrets it.

Truth is, I recovered right away, about a couple of hours. Good thing is, we were thought by a good mentor before how to mind condition. It's all on the mind, and you can actually control what you want to feel. As he always say, if you want to be enthusiastic, act enthusiastically! Use your conscious mind to influence your subconscious. Oh, honestly, I was able to use what I learned from this mentor I have in college. oh, it could also be easy for me to forget "him", it's because I was just actually physically attracted to him...All was physical attraction! I learned that you need to be "personality attracted more, than the physical", that's love! How much did I feel?....really hurt...good thing...I was thought how to mind condition. Have a nice day!

this is a complicated one,it depends on a lot of things-first time puppy love-your age-your experience-among other things-were you head over heels in love with this person-were you on a rebound-was this emotional or you know, mostly physical then again are you male or female--female tends to be more emotional

sometimes it takes 1 month sometimes a year, its a matter of what was the reason and how deep in love you were!

Well if you haven't accepted the fact that you can't be together at all then the heart break can last longer and may even last a lifetime. A heartbreak of course cannot be measured by how much hurt you feel. You won't be able to describe it as it just hurts like hell. Crying helps though, it helps in the healing process. The more you delay that release the longer it will take for you to recover.

it takes time ...it cud take a month or even an year ..depends on the individual...i think girls take more time to recover then boys just because girls are more emotional then guys. Some one with a positive attitude wud recover in no time & wud com out of it as a better person.
