I agree...too many kids sit inside with video games and junk food.

I don't think the it affects there eyes and memory in any way but I do know it affects there weight! thats why I bought the Wii, a little more movement is better then just thumbs.

There's good and bad about video games. Yes it can be bad for their eyes if they spend too much time in front of the vid screen (or computer screen). But as far as the memory - it depends on what games they play. If they play mainly mindless action games like Chainz, Diamond Mine, JewelQuest, and Shoot-em-ups then they are improving their hand-eye coordination, but not benefiting their mental abilities. Puzzle, strategy and many RPG games require more mental skills. Problem solving, remembering locations and hints and strategy planning all help to make them think and use their brain. This can be very beneficial to them. There are also many educational video games out there for the young ones. These can also help teach the children how to read, count, do math and problem solve. Too much of anything is usually bad, but in moderation, the right video games can be a great utility to keep the kids mental skills in tune.
