what do you do? I love my life, my kids, my husband...really nothing could be better but at the moment my kids keep getting sick - one has pneumonia - and I feel like everything is working against me. I feel I am a failure as a mother because I can't stop my little boys getting sick. Deep down I know I am a great mum & do everything i can for them. I am such a content & happy person normally, but when you can't make your kids better faster it gets you down I guess.
What do you do to pick yourself up & get back on the happy wagon again? I know when my kids start to get better I will feel better, but a quick pick me up trick would be fantastic right now!

It always breaks my heart when my kids are sick and I'm helpless to do anything to make them better so I know how you feel and telling you to stop feeling so bad isn't going to help one bit. If your kids are up to it why not rent a funny movie and watch it together? They say laughter is the best medicine so a few chuckles may help all of you feel better.

AHHH...Yes... I have three boys with intensive medical needs and by the end of the night (every night) I'm exhausted. We were in the car for 8 hours today driving back and forth for two doctor appointments for one of my boys who had 2 surgeries 10 & 11 days ago... Man... I hear ya! I am certain to try to be good to myself. A hot shower (with some yummy smelling body wash- bath & body works has this amazing cake scented stuff...oh my goodness!), a good cup of tea...maybe even watching a television program and just unwind. This is the best I can do for myself. I also, most importantly, try every day to get in time for prayer, meditation and/or a devotional. I am successful most of the time... it lifts my spirits greatly and is very comforting. Best to you and your little one!

Unless you have children repeatedly developing food poisoning from undercooked foods, you can't blame yourself for illness. It's a part of life, and all you can do is teach your children proper hygiene, nutrition, and care to help prevent future problems.
This sounds silly to some people, but have you tried meditation? I actually have a friend who was raped, and he said that meditation helped him immensely. Sometimes I suppose it is best to just be calm and to relax and take a deep breath.
