Drinking in moderation isn't bad for you. Smoking is, though. And smoking is worse because it affects other people too. when you overdrink, you're the one damaging your own liver. When you smoke you're damaging your lungs and the lungs of those around you.

Both are bad. One gives you lung cancer, the other liver cancer.

                    Hmmmm....
Smoking gives you lung cancer, excessive drinking gives you liver cancer.
You can get arrested for drinking & driving. And you can get arrested for smoking illegal stuff.
I guess it depends on what you smoke & when you drink.

They will both take a toll on your health, your life, your looks and in some case your relationships. If it was me, I would quit smoking before I quit drinking. I dont drink alot. I only drink about a 6 pack a week and even though Im sure its not great for me..I dont think its as bad as smoking.

I am a smoker, who would love to quit.
However, smokers don't get so addicted they ruin their families lives with lying and stealing. Smokers don't end up in the gutter drinking meths from a bottle hidden in a paper bag. Smokers don't lose their families and self respect because they have to have one more drink.
Alternatively, drinkers don't pass lung cancer around, drinkers dont make the clothes of everyone around them smell, and drinkers don't ruin peoples meals by dispensing smoke around the table.
On balance, on a personal and family level I would say drinking is worst, but on an anti-social level smoking is worse.
