New Zealand hopes to engage Mother Earth in a plan to cut her carbon emissions by 90%. Among those resources are fresh water hot springs heated by volcanoes, sun, and wind.
*
Goals include 90% of energy must come from renewable sources by 2025.
*
They want to cut transport emissions by 50% by 2040. Replacing their dirty old government fleet of cars with an all electric fleet will take them a long way toward that goal.
*
The most interesting goal is to curb emissions of the potent greenhouse gas nitrous oxide from agriculture. That means among other things, bad breath from cows, goats, and sheep.

i'm afraid carbon emissions from new zealand don't really affect the world's situation. the countries that could make a difference like the U.S or China and India don't seem very interested in cutting down their emissions. but nevertheless, it's a very good thing to know there are countries who seriously attempt to do what they can for the enviroment.
keep up the good work

I can't speak for China or India.

The American Federal Government couldn't care beans for carbon, but the States are working on the problem as are individuals. The States and Individuals are not waiting for the tardy Feds to fix problems any more. schools are going solar, and gardens are popping up. Gardens are carbon sink holes.
