Birthday Blowout

Hey guys, my birthday was a couple of months ago and as a tradition, I always treat my friends when it's my birthday. The birthday blowout is something we do here in the Philippines where the celebrant pays for food and drinks. My Visa bill came through today so I'm not so happy to have to pay for my birthday expenses. Anyway, how do you celebrate birthdays in your area? Do you also treat your friends and co-workers to dinner or pizza? Or is it the other way around? Does everyone but the celebrant pitch in the bill?
