Obviously, the correct answer that all grade school kids would know is "teacher". Seven letters. T-e-a-c-h-e-r. Definitely greater than God in the circumstances, and far more evil than the devil. And definitely more tangible than either. Surprised no one else thought this. ;-)

I will be agreeing with your 2nd point that TEACHER can be EVIL than the devil for some students BUT CAN'T BE GREATER THAN GOD! That's only my opinion... but I still respect yours and I really do value them especially your time spent in my discussion! Thank you so much.

Nothing is my answer and I see it is correct. The first clue of being greater than God is what gave it away as there is nothing greater!!

i'm sure i've heard this somewhere before. but i just couldn't remember and had to scroll down to peek. then i realised the answer has got to be nothing. how can anything be greater than god or more evil than the devil? especially the more evil than devil part. this is a good one. keep them coming ;D

That is a very good riddle my friend,but if you over analyze it is hard to come up with the correct answer,which is why some kids might be able to come up with the answer more often than adults,I would have to say that the answer is nothing because nothing is greater than God,and nothing is more evil than the devil.

When I came to read this discussion of yours, Jhordie, I wanted to come up with an answer. I really hope I know the right answer. But frankly, NOTHING popped in my mind. So I browse the responses and there is NOTHING, NOTHING is all that i found. KEEP SMILING = NEIL

It's nothing of course 
The first time I was asked this is back in High School and I just answered it just the same. Maybe it helps that most of the time I really think simple
