What about the Libertarians?

It seems like everything in political news has been about the Democrats. Now that the Democratic candidate is 'settled', a majority of the media is winding up for the battle between Democrats and Republicans. Being from Georgia and having a friend who's active in the Libertarian party, I've heard a lot about the candidate that will be representing them, recently.
But has anyone else? Bob Barr, who is pretty well known after the Bill Clinton 'scandal' (if not before), is the party nominee. If you have, what are your views on his entrance into the race for President? What do you think of his policies and ideas?
Just curious.

I am a new Libertarian, came to the party over frustration I had with the Republican party. The Constitution is first not party loyality. I could not put up with the assault against the Constitution from my party. Also the increasing size of government that was growing faster than under the Clinton administration. You know how difficulty it is calling yourself a fiscal Conservative when your party is growing faster than a Democrat administration. I am all for Bob Barr, and do not see anything wrong with him. Sure some of his voting record does not line up with the Libertarian party, but he has said that his positions have evolved, and has come to understand why his early in life positions were wrong. When he lost his seat to another Republican during the 2002 election, the Libertarian party spent money to get him defeated. After that he start to come to a more of a libertarian position like legalized marijuani. He actually want to overturn the Barr Law which was created by himself. Could you imagine McCain campaigning against the McCain-Fiengold bill.

He at least sounds like an honest man if he wants to repeal a law that he himself proposed! I did a quick search for the Barr Law but couldn't find anything about it, what's it about?

With you. Thanks for the clarification. He sounds like an OK guy, you don't get many politicians openly admitting they were wrong. It's one of the problems with democratic politics, a government passes a law that turns out to be a disaster, but they can't do the simple thing and admit they made a mistake, so they usually end up trying to fix the problem by doing more of the same.
