Milwaukee Wisconsin is Run by Idiots

As some of you know, I take Greyhound Bus trips once in awhile (in fact, I'm getting ready for another one next month), so I know what I'm talking about when it comes to bus stations, what they are for, and who you find hanging around them. Milwaukee Intermodal Station is a central bus/train station where everything from Amtrak to Indian Trails Lines pick up and drop off passengers. It's actually one of the nicer bus/train stations in our nation... but it is still just a bus/train station. Most stations of this type offer some kind of food services. In the smaller places, it is just a counter with some c-store type sandwiches and hostess/little debbie snacks, chips and drinks. The nicer places have national chain fast food places in them. The owners of the station have been trying to get approval for a fast food and c-store in the station, but such offerings are not good enough for the Mayor and some of the city counsel members. They have it in their heads that such a nice travel facility wouldn't be complete without a "Fine Dining" restaurant. They have been trying to attract restaurant companies to open a restaurant in the station for 2 years now. Hmmm, how many of you would love to dress up and go to the bus station for an evening of fine dining with bus and train travellers? ;~D

Yes, I, too, use to travel by bus somewhat a few years ago. I would agree with you that a 'fine dining' restaurant at the bus station is not a good idea. If the Mayor and his henchmen think this is such a good idea, suggest they invest their own money into such a restaruant rather than tempt a restaurant company into doing it. One last warning, doing business with any unit of government can be a frustrating and infuriating undertaking. Often times the govenment representatives have no clue whatsoever concerning what it takes to have a profitable business. Their expectations are often unrealistic and if the business becomes profitable they'll either try to take it or get a bigger cut from it. I can almost promise this will happen.

I've been in Milwaukee for a brief moment with the Greyhound and I really don't like their system. Like I get ripped off by one of the machines and they don't pay me back. They say, "call the company." b/s. But yeah Milwaukee is like dangerous as what I heard on the streets in Green Bay.
