computers use

For me, it's true. I waste a lot of my time on the computer. However, I have to use a computer to do my research.

I think your teacher looks at it in just one side. Computers is a very important today especially to a student, researches, you can check for updates in your school, getting connected to people, and it pay you as well like this site, mylot ! In several ways, computers should be use wisely but not necessarily to be restricted for a student.

Using a computer has it's advantage and dis-advantage. On the students part...it is a very important tool. While some student use it for excessive gaming, to access X sites and gambling site...and that's what I'm pointing at... the dis-advantage part...right?

My son is a junior in high school, yes he plays games on the computer but, teacher wants reports and such via e-mail. and thats fine with me. not just e-mail teacher wants all notes too written

yes in a way is true, but now days computer skills are very important so we have to be able to use them. The best thing is to know when to stop using it and not use it as a way procrastinate from things we have to get done.

yes as previously stated there are 2 sides to every story, while your teacher may be bias .. you need to seek out others' opinions and see what they have to say my take on it ... computers open you up to communities and wealths of knowledge

I think some computer games are good for students! They help with coordination and it is fun to learn that way!

in my opinion, in the case of a student, one should be disciplined in using a computer. its not really wasting time when a student uses a computer. im even a student lol. i heard an article that says surfing the internet helps a student to make his own ideas. if you are participating in forums or discussion boards like this (mylot), you are using your mind to give your opinions to other people thus, it helps you to develop your analytic skills because you analyze other people's posts/opinions. and obviously computers also help students to do their work acurately and less tiring. you could do a research in the internet, do your reports, and also helps you to learn. bottomline is, students must have DISCIPLINE ^_^
