Why DO People Pick ON Fat People

Why? Do they not think they have feeling? Some people can't help being over weight. The have a medical condtion or something eles holding them back from lossing weight. This makes me mad that some people have such a shallow mind to treat people like the do not exist because they are heavy. I am a slim woman and can't imagine what my friend goes though every day. My friend ( that is heavy )and I went to the store the other day and a man held the door open for me and said hi. When she got to the door he shut and went on his way. I never noticed before how different people treat us when we were out until she said did you just see that. My friend is a pretty woman to. This bothers me and I need to get it out. There sure are some mean ruded people in this world that judge you by your cover. Do you see this when you are out?

The main reason for behaving so is cultural influence. We have been under influence since we were children. And after years and years of continuous influence we start to believe that the ideas society has given us are our own ideas. We start to think that fat people are ugly and we believe, that this idea is our own, but in reality this is the effect of influence. I myself am under the negative effect of cultural influence - I can't say that I like fat people, but I also can't help thinking so.
Ofcourse there are also other factors. For example if everyone in one's family were tolerant of overweight people, than there is a chance he will be tolerant of them too.
But still, our imperfect culture is the main factor. In order for some to change their attitude towards fat people, the culture has to change.

Well I dont think that is going to happen any time soon!!!!!!!!!! Im thak ful I do not believe big is ugly and have done a well job of making sure my children have the same values!!!!!!!!

I'm glad you're thinking so. It is a great thing that you are not under the influence of many. I wish more people were like that.
