Does anyone play a musical instrument?

I am a band teacher, so I play them all, but I was just wondering if any adults out there who used to be in band still actually can play their instrument? My students love it so much right now, but I just wonder if it will stick with them like it did for me.

I am still in high school, but I definitely plan on playing music my entire life. I started piano when I was 6, trumpet when I was 10, saxophone when I was 14, tuba when I was 16, sousaphone (for marching band) 6 months after learning tuba, and now trombone (for this coming school year) for about 3 weeks. I plan on cramming French Horn in for senior year of high school. Some people just naturally enjoy music. Others, not so much. Each year of music is getting better for school, because the people who arent serious about music are quiting band.

My son played trombone starting in 5th grade. He loved band. In high school he was in marching band, stage band, jazz band, and pep band. Since he graduated in 2000, I seriously doubt he's had his instrument out of its case.
