I totally forgot this until I was scrolling through my calendar on my cell phone! Dean Koontz has another Odd Thomas chapter coming out! June 24th is the release date for In Odd We Trust. The summary on it looks like it is a graphic novel. I have no real clue what that is. I am imagining a comic book but, I really hope not. And, it seems that this might be the story where we see Stormy's death. I don't recall if Stormy met her death in the first of the series Odd Thomas. It was quite some time ago that I read that one. So, if someone could remind me, that would be great. I know basically how she died because Odd briefly summarizes it in each of his new chapters but, for the life of me, I can't remember if it happened in his first chapter or, if In Odd We Trust will be when that story plays out. So, I will be picking a copy of it up for myself. I am really hoping it isn't a comic book though. I have no idea what a graphic novel is. Any ideas? Can anyone else fill me in?

A graphic novel is a fancy way of saying a THICK comic book. In a lot of cases, graphic novels are what they do to collect a bunch of comics in the same series all into one place. In other cases, they can be a stand alone story. For example, they're making graphic novels of Stephen King's Gunslinger series (though from what I've seen of it, it doesn't follow the storyline in the book very well). I haven't read any Dean Koontz for quite a while, but if he's got a graphic novel coming out, I may have to check that out. My fiance will probably like it. :)

I am concerned about this direction! LOL! I love the Odd Thomas series by Dean Koontz and, I almost feel like a graphic novel might cheapen the story somehow! I hope not! I am open-minded so, I will check it out. I can't NOT check it out! LOL! Thank you for the help in explaining it to me! And, you should check out all of the Odd Thomas series before you check out the graphic novel. You might like it! It is really fun and, he is one of two of my favorite characters that Dean Koontz writes. The other one is Christopher Snow. Thanks again for your help...and, again, Thank you for suggesting the idea of the Library near my job so I have a place to get away from work during my lunch hour during intolerable weather! I have been singing your praises for the suggestion all over that discussion! And, I did go to that library yesterday!

I will have to add that series to my "to read" list, which keeps getting longer and longer. I'm actually looking forward to an upcoming trip for work that involves two LONG flights, because I will be able to read so much on the plane! :)

Stormy was killed in the mall shooting spree, remember? She was at her job. I don't remember which book it was, but that's when it happened. I love Odd Thomas too, cortjo. He's a wonderful character, and very appealing. But a graphic novel??? Yuck, that's a comic book! Shite. I don't need illustrations! I'm really not looking forward to dealing with that - but I want to read the book! Wah! Have you read "Out of the Corner of His Eye"? It's the book he was meant to write, Cortjo, it's really quite amazing. If you haven't read it, I don't want to tell you anything about it, except that you should read it. Thank for the info about Odd Thomas, darlin. Very much appreciated.
