Voting paradox!!!

As a citizen it's your duty and priviledge to vote for the best party, or best man for a president. Lately I see here at mylot.com lot of discussions about McCain, Obama and Ms. Clinton and I think that it's not a bad choice afterall. Why do I think? Well... in my last voting (in my country) I had a little paradox about all of this stuff. First option was to vote for party X that wanted all power for themselves and was a bunch of liars. Their secondary target was to make people so pissed of that they would not vote and they would win, couse 20% of the country are religious fanatics that would rather die than not vote on them. Second option was to vote for another party that was very similar to the first one, but they were hiding themselves behind masks of the carying people and profesionalists which they weren't. Third option was a group of parties that combined themselves without any other reason than to win with those two first parties. They hadn't anything common in their view of the country and was going to collapse just after the voting time. Fourth option was to vote on one of the minority parties but they didn't have proper strenght, or program and in fact they was a pack of psycho's or countrymans morrons. Fifth and the last option was not to vote at all but then it would be the same as the first option. Well... what would you do in such voting?

I understand your discussion. And it is a shame that when yougo into the voting booth you cannot hit a protest vote button instead of feeling like you have to choose one of the lesser 2 evils. I do not believe in voting this way. I have never voted before the US primaries this year. the only reason why I did is there was a candidate that I felt confident enough to run the country as well as was honest. And he did not participate in any of the mudlinging that the others had unfortuantely had. And even though Ron Paul had backed out of the race his name was still on the KY primaries and I put my 2 cents in by pushing that button. He may have only been recognized as "other" but that was my voice in the primary election process. In fact, this whole campaign process is sickening when it seems that most of the countyr is only concerned with gender issues, race issues, and religious issues. I think almost all the candidates (Obama and Clinton) had made poor judgements in the past by affiliations or bald face lies that people do not pay attention to simply because they are EXICTED that a minority of some type is running. Facts are lost and policies and bills are being presented and passed while all this soap opera crap is going on and no one seems to notice. I will be voting in the National Elections for the US. And I will be writing in Ron Paul. My past nonvotes since I turned 18 are my protest votes, and for some reason the pollsters never want to count the nonvotes....and there is a good majority of people who do not vote for this reason.

I am not from the US so I do not know if you are allowed to do a write-in vote since there is no "protest" vote. Many see not voting only as apapthy of the voter and not a protest of the lack of choices. If 90 % of the people voted and even 35% of those voted for Lassie(or who ever) that would encourage the "real" candidates to take notice that voters are tired of them and changes must be made.It may also encourage someone to run for election instead of Lassie and they could make changes.Every vote counts(so we are told),so let your vote scream at the politions that NEITHER are chosen.

After reading the choices,it appears to me there are two choices IF you have already decided to vote and make that vote count.Vote for the devil you know or the devil you don't know. Not much of a choice. There is no way the problem is going to be solved in one vote.Maybe if some of the "fringe" party members got in it would shake up the politicians as the popularity vote will be less in their favour.Let's say it is only a 2% change THIS ELECTION. By building on it for the next one, that % would go up if the party members keep their names in the limelight and dog the party voted in.This could bring a change way down the road, but it does take effort by the voters.Sometimes earth-shattering changes start by just a slight shake.

I agree with your point of view. If you are interested a devil behind the mask actually won those elections. Thanks for responsing.
