Have you ever travelled, and did not inform your family that you were leaving?

If you decided to take a trip, did you let someone know that you were leaving? Did you just walk out without telling anyone?

Hi cream97! No, I haven't done that. Everytime I travel I always tell the whole family about it especially if I will be away for a long time. My grandmother and father will be hurt if I wouldn't kiss them goodbye. Take care and God bless!

No, I have never done that. But recently my daughter did. And I must tell you I did not like that at all. Do not get me wrong. I have no issues about her going somewhere, but at least tell me that you are leaving town so I know if or when I have to reach You in some way. It can be but it probably do not matter, but if something for some reason happen in the family that needs to be told to her it is god if she tells me that she is out of town. It´s for me about respect for the family.

I usually inform my mom where I am going. We live right next door so she would know if I had left for a weekend or so. Besides I have fish that have to be fed if I go out of town so I have to ask her to take care of them while I am away. So no sneaking out of town for me. I don't tell the rest of my family though.

Once when I was younger, I went on a trip with some friends to some province. I was mad and just had the biggest fight ever with my dad,so i left without telling anybody in the family. But, since i don't want him to worry, i left a note on his desk on where i was going and who am I with and when tentatively am I going home..

The first time I flew to Phoenix, I did so without informing a single person at home. I knew they would protest or try to stop me. so I just didn't tell anyone. Mind you I was liing in my own apartment at the time so it's not like I was walking out on anyone, but I still didn't tell anyone until I got there, at which point I phoned home to tell them where I had gone.

for short trips, I dont inform my familes as we dont live together and we dont talk on the phone everyday, if more than a week, I would tell one of my families so that they know where I am, they wouldnt worry abt me when they cant reach me (ie. when cellphones dont work). But I told my families that I *might* *disappear* someday, go to some very remote area for years or maybe the rest of my life just enjoy some peace :-)

I usually tell my family before I go off traveling. When I was 20 I went around the world and was in Cairns the day before I was booked to fly to Darwin. My friend told me that if I worked a bit longer I could afford to go back to Sydney. So I rang the airline and told them to cancel my reservation. I rang my mum a few days later and she was surprised to hear that I was still in Cairns. Six weeks later I took a train to Brisbane and eventually I got back to Sydney, my favorite city.

It depends on the lenght of the trip. If I was going on a trip for several hours I would not tell anyone, if the trip were going to last all day or more I probably would. I don't tend to go away for long periods of time because I have a dog to take care of and he doesnt appreciate my abscence.

Telling others, that too our neighbours while going on tour is better.Because, when we are out anything may go wrong or some incedent or accident may take place,or any correspondence or relative may come.Anything will occur,so its better to inform our neighbourer.

I bring some gift from their and then i inform them. My friend infrom every thing to every one so if their is any emergency every one is ready. Even I think we should infrom them because any thing can happen any time. enjoy :)

Whenever my husband and I take a trip I don't feel I need to tell my parents. but once we went on a weekend trip and I came home to 20 voice messages on my answering machine. She was practically yelling on the phone that I did not tell her I was going for the weekend. I did not think I should since I don't have to report to her about my whereabout.

I like to say that is the case, but in my mom's case. it is control issue. She just want to know where and who I am with. Even though I was married. if i told her I was with a friend, at the mall (for example) she wants to know the name of the person, how I got to the mall, why am I at the mall, what do I need to buy, and why did I go to the mall with this friend, and where did I meeet this friend, what is the friend background, how many siblings do they have, what language do they speak, are they married, single, etc. and the list can go on forever. so on the weekends i just tell them I am going out of town. And she will say "no you can't I need you to come over, and it could be as simple as - I need you to take me to the store to buy some thing. Keep in mind she drives. So I don't know about this.

Hi cream97, i wish i will do that one day later, hehe :p This really need a lot of courage to make such decision. I think maybe i'm the kind of person who like to inform peole what am i going to do next, so that they manage to trace back what is going on in case anything happen, haha :p

I've done that few times although not recently... Last time I've done that was over 8 years ago, before my daughter was born... My ex & I were fighting a lot at the time & I just took off one morning without telling anyone... My mohter & sister are used to it & they know I'll contact them if I need to... I was gone for about 2 weeks without contacting anybody in my family... Now that I have a family of my own, sometimes we take off without contacting each other's parents or family members... But we never have gone anywhere without telling each other... For past 4 years my girl friend & I've been living together, I don't think we've ever gone anywhere without the other... Other than working, we're constantly together...
