haveing probloms with my f250 5.4 lilter

ok iam working on a truck i bouth that had the moter blown due to no oil so i took the moter out and replaiced it with new one i got at napa and put it in and hooked it all up and it wont start but if i put starting fluid to the carb it starts untill it runs out of starting fluid.
