Hey son when were you born?

What was your birth date again son? - I could not remember when my little boy was born!

After promising my children for weeks that I would take them to the library and allow them to become members, I finally took them today and signed them all up. I had to sit with the lady and run through a few details with her about them, she was like the librarians you see in films, hair pulled back into a severe bun and glasses perched on the end of her nose allowing her to look down at me, rather than at me. She asked me questions about the kids, names and addresses etc and then she asked for their date of births. I was fine with the first one easy, and then she came to my next son and I went to tell her his date of birth and my mind went blank, completely and utterly blank. I could not recall it at all, I started to panic a bit because she was looking at me down her nose and I could not get it. I was just about to turn around and ask my boys to help me out when a lightbulb went on in my head and hurray I remembered! I felt a right little fool! Have you ever been in a situation where your mind has gone completely blank? Either in conversation or an exam? Or when someone has asked you a simple question that you really should know the answer too?

LOL Only about 10 times a day sweetheart! lol I am always having blank moments and if it is with people who know me it is fine as they understand but when it is a stranger I hate it! I have to say as well though that I am constantly getting my kids dates of birth mixed up as one was born on the 5th and one on the 15th of the same month - I tend to give their date of birth as the others - so confusing! lol xxx

Confusing is the word I would use, although no doubt some bright spark will come along and accuse me of being a bad Mum or negligent as it seems to be my turn to get digged at hee hee.!

I responded to a discussion about kids tantrums and someone left a comment on my response saying that I was a bad parent because of how I dealt with it. Said that I was out of order for calling my child names, when all I had said was she was silly and naughty. It just got to me. Then someone else took a dig somewhere else, nothing major but because it was about my kids it hurt, it was below the belt. I do not have a problem with taking other peoples opinions at all but when it just seems like an excuse to be mean then it does get to me. xx

Maybe her appearance is that destructive gemini..LOL! or you are trying to remember a movie where the librarian is similar to this one? Joke! Anyway, I have experienced that last time when I got my SSn and the lady ask me to spell my dad's name and to my surprise, it took me a while before I did it right..I can't believe myself but i also don't know why I was blank that time..

Hi gemini! I'm always forgetting things, my brain seems to shut down on the worst of times. I'd see something lying around and think i'd better move it for safe keeping, and wouldn't you know; i'd forget were i put it lol. Or i'd be giving my children some instruction and would loose my train of thought mid-sentence. And this is the best one,i'll be writing something and remember how to spell the big words, but the simple words like bring or was.. i'd forget how to spell for a moment, and i'd have to regroup and compose myself before i can remember. And when asked things i know, my brain would pick just that time to go blank, making me look an utter fool, sometimes i wonder if i'm ditsy.

I just felt like a very silly schoolgirl who did not know the answer to a question, it was very embarrassing!
