I love reading, but it takes a lot for a book to catch my attention. What's your favorite type of book to read? Your favorite author? Or even you favorite book. I'd like to start reading again, but I don't want to go buy a book, and then be uninterested in it.

The Chronicles of Narnia, and Novels of Redwall are really good books. Brian Jaques is the author of the Redwall books, which are very interesting. I recommend these for people who like sci-fi, it's about little creature's such as mice, badgers, rats, even some birds all personified from the dark ages kinda theme. You can find these at a library if you dont wanna buy them, but each one is a big book, lol, so good long reading. I read all of them before i turned 13 and i still like to read them again.

I read the Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrode in Elementary School, and have read it a few times since then. I've been wanting to read the other part of the series, and now think I might. I was worried they wouldn't be as good as the middle one.

Really, you should read them all. The movies are coming out fast, and if you read all the books you can understand the movies better. I think the last book of chronicles of narnia is the BEST, but remember read it last! (i bet you'll like it :)

lol, I always try to read them in order. The only reason I read I believe the second book first because it was for school. Can't wait to read them! Thank you so much for the advice!

I can, and do read pretty much anything. My favourites are probably detective type mysteries, though you can have too much of a good thing and sometimes I need to read something completely different. I really don't like sci-fi or fantasy books.

I enjoy reading a little bit of everything, as long as it has a good plot. Sometimes that's hard to come by though. Detective books are always a thrill to read. = )

I like to read non-fiction, especially books about women, and how they live in different cultures. I have a number of really good books about women in he Middle East that I've read a number of times.

There is one really good book I read for a college class about a Middle Eastern Woman, and of course, now that I want to write about it, I can't remember the name. It was a very good book though.

Hi luckycharm00812. There are currently a few other similar discussions here on myLot about favorite books and authors. I like suspense thrillers alot. Also, mysteries, funny books, and stories about relationships are pretty fun to read. I have lots of favorite authors. Among them: Harlan Coben, Jeffrey Deaver, Janet Evanovich, Sue Grafton, to name a few. I tend to get alot of books at library book sales or secondhand book stores to save on the cost of them. But I do still buy brand new books. Also, I frequent Amazon for books in my profession as I do find it necessary to order books from time to time.

You could just get books from the library. Then if something ends up not being interesting, you don't waste money buying something. As for types of books I like to read, I like suspense/thriller/mystery books. My favorite author is Dean Koontz. As for favorite books, I have many, but on the top of my head is Oscar Wilde's 'The Picture Of Dorian Gray'.
