Which is more important - can live with him or cannot live without him?

How would you answer the above? It's not the same right? When you decide to marry or live with a person, how would you base yr decision on? That you can live with him or that you cannot live without him? I found this out years back, when I was separated from my boyfriend (now my husband) for a short while. When we were together, we argued, quarrelled and sometimes went through periods of "cold war". I then decided I CAN'T live WITH him. So we agreed on separation. During those few months apart, I was miserable...simply depressed. I thought of him wherever I went, whatever I did. Even though my girlfriends brought me out for dinners and clubbing, my heart was not there. I kept wishing that he was with me, at the movies, parties, vacations...in fact, the arguements and quarrels with him seemed to fade off. I've met new friends - nice guys I suppose, people you can live with, but somehow it's not the same. 3 months later, we got back together. It was like a romance anew. I guess I decided that I want a person that I cannot live without, rather than someone that I can live with. It lends more emotions, excitement and surprises to life.

Hie Lazabee, I am glad that you got back together and happy now. I guessed the separation was a blessing in disguise and given you the enough time to really know your feelings well. Some people just hit the chemistry easily and they are swept away down the aisle. And some have it the hard way , that's the way of life. I believe what you have found is true love and tolerance & communication between both is important. I have yet to find a better solution myself. Best wishes to you and Cheers,

Right, I guess there is no guarantee, but for the meantime, I'm thankful for what I have. Thank you for your wishes.

i think in this case can't live without him is more appropriate. can live with him seems like i will manage somehow to live with that person.i think you have probably known it better how it felt living without him so you can't manage without him.

Hi Subha, you're right. It sounds so silly right?
