hehe my b/f has a laptop, and his laptop gets hot a lot of times during the summer months. he's only had it for like now, since February. but, how he keeps his laptop cooled, is he'll place a fan near the back of the laptop, and than turn on the fan full blast, and it'll keep it cool. you might want to purchase a laptop cooler thingie that you can buy at walmart real cheap. here's the very same one that he's got on his laptop. it is great when it isn't that hot in our apartment, but, it does the job though. here's the link to it: http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=4217006 hope that link works, but, that's the one that he has. and he says that it's pretty good compared to the other one that he got. it was only like $9 and it wasn't worth a crap, to tell you the truth, LOL. now that he got this one, he doesn't have that much problems with his laptop over-heating, unless if he doesn't have the laptop cooler under neath his laptop, or, the apartment is extremely hot. LOL hope this helps you some. take care

Buy somekind of cooler for it. Maybe some kind of simply ventilator can help too. If nothing helps put it in the fridge, hehe.

I agree with you Zergonipal. the laptop cooler will cool it down, and helps it out a lot. :)

Hi xusnake, I use a desktop but the flat screen monitor throws off heat I can feel it right in my face, I bought a small fan and now it doesn't bother me anymore - what a difference. Remember a lot of electronics get hot after a while so a fan helps to keep it cool just like the small fan they have inside of a computer tower.

The fan would be the cheapest solution but if you want to do it in style then go for lapy cooler. You could also configure your power option to maximize power saving and somehow reduce a bit the heat. If Laptop could only overcome this heat thing, then I think desktop is history.

The idea actually of computer setting is not to cool them down but to minimize overheating. Look at your desktop properties and under screen saver there is Monitor Power. If you set your power scheme to portable/laptop it will monitor your inactivity period(shorter time) and turn devices off or hibernate if it need too. But if you continuously use the laptop for a longer time, this has no effect.

i have heard that some software can change the configure to cool the computer . did u know how to do that ? i think use the cooler just the outside which cannot solve the problem and to change inside configurer is the working way .

try putting an aircon under your laptop. just kidding. i also use a laptop cooler which helps my laptop lessen its temperature when i use it for long hours
