I noticed when my cats is sick, they don't want to play or they prefer to sleep than to eat. And most of my cats if they were sick, they vomit. :(

If your cat is usually frisky and then turns tempermental she might be sick. If she is active and suddenly becomes lethargic, that might be a sign. If your cat seems to have difficulties going to the bathroom in the litter box or starts having accidents all over the place. That's another sign. Or, if she won't eat or vomits clear liquids, but can't seem to throw up. She might have something stuck in her throat or stomach. Get her to the vet ASAP. Cat systems are very delicate!

He or she loses interest in eating, playing and life in general. A sick cat will likely sleep more, cry out in pain and appear listless and unkept. And a seriously ill cat tends to hide, as my Tabitha had done, in places such as Closets and behind the stove. Other symptoms include a change in movement, sight, and habits.

If a cat is not eating; drinking excessively or not drinking; if its fur looks rough, like a rug instead of sleek (more for a short haired cat but even long haired cats); if they are hiding. These are all signs of a sick cat. Trust me, I've seen them all!

I knew my kittens were sick when they were sneezing all the time and they would not play they just laid around their noses were running and they weren't eating we had got them from a humane shelter and they ended up having upper respitory infection the vet gave them a shot of anitibiotics and we have to give them amoxicillan for two weeks and nursed them back to health.

basicly watch for any sudden change in behavior.... when in doubt call the vet... it may be worth checking out or it may not be..

I guess if your cat stops eating is a good sign, check to see if there is any lumps in case you cat has been in a cat fight, if your cat is old and has a distinct odor and is very red in the mouth it could have kidney failure..but best to take it to a vet if you think there is something wrong.
