What did you do with your stubborn kid?

Well, my eldest son is sometimes stubborn. I keep on telling him not to go out from the house often but he isnot listening. He always go to the friend's house until one time he was bitten by neigjbor's dog. He just shrugged his shoulders and said, he did not mean to do it. What did you do with your stubborn kid? I don't like to keep on smacking him.
