That depends, what country do you live? Do you travel to other countries? Reason why I ask you these questions is that for #1 - Nokia 6300 is a single mode, tri-band phone... Which means it will only work with GSM net work... Also, even though it's a tri-band phone, here in U.S., GSM networks are based on 850 & 1800 MHZ... This phone only supports 1800 MHZ... Which means depending on which service you go with, t-mobile & At&t being 2 main carriers of GSM, phone may not work in all the places you wanted to... That's only if you wanna work this phone only in U.S... Nokia 6500 on the other hand, being it that it's a dual mode, Quad band phone, it works with both WCDMA & GSM network... If I'm not mistaken, Sprint & Verizon work with CDMA network & WCDMA should work with the same phone... Also, this phone can work with GSM network as well, being it that it's a Duel mode - which means it works in 2 different modes, gsm & WCDMA... In gsm network, this phone also works with 850/900/1800/1900 MHZ... Which means if you go with T-mobile or AT&T here in U.S., it will work in more places... Some parts of the U.S. will provide you with 850 MHZ gsm network & some parts of the U.S. will work only with 1800 MHZ... If you do travel out side of U.S., 900/1900 MHZ Gsm will give you service will give you a service in most European & Asian countries... Quad band being 850/900/1800/1900 MHZ...
