What do you parents think about the quality of children's books these days?

I write and publish children's books, and I'm only 20 with no children, so I'd like to get a view of what parents are looking for in their children's books these days? Are you worried about how morals are perceived in today's literature? Do you read through books before your kids to make sure they're okay for them? Are there any books you won't let your kids read? What are some books you think are really great for kids? Thanks guys! Christie

Welcome to my lot. I'm a child author too. As a parents point of view, there are books I wouldn't let my children read, books with profanity and such. I forgot titles as this was years ago. my two children are 14, and 16. There not really into reading but, do it for school as teachers pick out books to read for book reports and other assignments. my daughter how ever is now starting poetry and likes it.

Hey that's awesome. What are some of your books about? I've written a series about the Christmas story from the animals' perspective, and a historical fiction series. Thanks for the info!
