With a car that you would never buy that make again? In another discussion I started, one of the responses reminded me of why I refuse to own a Dodge product - or allow my children to. It's pretty funny too, because my father-in-law is so puzzled over why I insist on buying Nissans and not "American" made cars.
About 18 years ago I owned a Dodge Shadow. It was a 2-door, 5-speed, red peice of crap. My husband at the time insisted we buy an "American Made" car, even though replacing our Nissan Sentra would have been cheaper and we never had any problems with it (until he ran it into a brick wall). So, I let him get the Dodge. Within 3 months the speedometer quit working and they were never able to get it fixed for longer than a month or so - I finally just quit trying. Before it was a year old (we bought it brand new) it needed a new fuel pump, which was about 10 miles out of the warranty coverage and they expected me to pay for the new one. Oh, that was a fun conversation. Not long after that, the alternator went up - apparently there was a recall but they failed to inform me of it. I had it less than 2 years and that was 2 years too long for me. I remember one night when I was complaining about it so much that my husband said "At least it's more comfortable than the Sentra" and my reply was "Then go sleep in it because it sure isn't moving out of the driveway without a tow-truck!" From the day I sold it I swore to never own another Dodge product again. I've gone back to Nissans and been EXTREMELY happy with them.
What's your experience with a particular car that totally turned you off to that make/model?

FORD. Fix Or Repair Daily! Never again. I found the best luck with asian made cars too. From another persons point of view and it makes sence to me too. "They try harder to make cars to please us, american cars are junk cause they dont care." That was a qoute not my words but i do agree.

Isn't that funny how the same vehicle does different things to people :)

Nothing personally for us but our son in law had a dodge truck and he also had nothing but problems with it. He finally traded it in on a different truck but not another dodge. We have also had friends who have had bad experiences with dodges and others who haven't. I am sure it is that way though with most vehicles. I know you were very happy to get rid of your dodge.

One of my aunts had the same car as me and had tons of problems too. Another aunt had the same one, but an automatic transmission and loved it, had it for eons!
