I've been trying to fix something all day with Firefox. I couldn't open it this morning from the icon on my desktop, I managed to open it somehow and it would only show half the viewing page, with the other half being off to the right, No scroll bars and a wide beige page section with red typing on it in html (I unable to post that here ). I tried rebooting but that didn't help. I defragged and ran all my virus scans. I decided to uninstall and reinstall Firefox(forgot to save 2 years of my favourites). And I was blown away to open it up and it's the same thing. I'm using XP professional and I was looking for that application where you can go back to a previous time...I can't even find that. Please help me if you can.

Hi I to have been having problems with firefox. For 2 days it would not open or it continually gave me the agree to terms page. I have agreed to the terms about 5 times already. I did the scans and re installed the program. So fat today I have not had a problem. Knock on wood.

Hi MsTickle I really don't know too much re computers but I have done system restore and I have XP. All I do is go to start, then accessories, then system tools then system restore and set date for about a week before. This will then restore and you have to restart for it to take effect. Good luck, hope this helps and works. Ellie :D

I've lost nearly a whole day. Just before I came here I was trying to trace my steps yesterday and you know what...I think I fixed it. I did it in a roundabout way and it worked!! (Don't ask me how I got to where I went...)

I too have Win XP Pro. I had a problem with Firefox also, a day or two ago - it kept hanging every time I opened it, the error console reflected some errors I couldn't make sense of. I made a screenshot of it, logged on to mozilla.com using internet explorer, tried to ask for support from them. I got cut off (the screenshot I made was too heay). I gave up. I'm now using ie. Smooth so far.

I found that error console when I was trying to fix things. It was chock a block full of errors. Are we supposed to do anything with that? I switched to IE too for the duration and it was going all right for a change but it really doesn't function well for any length of time these days.

I fixed the problem without having to do that but some weird things have happened...1) I lost my list of favourites in IE. 2) Even though I uninstalled Firefox and downloaded it again, it has reverted back to the original. 3) Spellchecker in Firefox has stopped working. It seems computers will always get the better of me. *sigh*
