As much as I'm fully aware that different parts of the world have different beliefs, cultures etc etc..I STILL find it so hard to believe that this sort of barberic thing goes on in this day and age.. Villagers said more than 100 people gathered machetes and knives and stormed the village of Kegogi after midnight. "They started banging on the doors, they broke into the house and then they killed our grandmother inside," says Justus Bosire. "The mob was screaming and we panicked. We ran away and they came to our house and burned it to the ground." When Bosire returned to his grandmother's house, he found her dead on the floor in a bed of embers. His father is missing AND that in parts of the world "Witchcraft" is still so misunderstood Others are skeptical the slain women were witches. At the top of a hill outside Kisii, Joseph Omache practices his craft. Omache is a shaman, or traditional healer. He throws bones and communes with ancestors to help heal physical and spiritual ailments. "It is very painful when somebody kills another person in the name of witchcraft," he says. "Why couldn't they come to me so that I can perform my herbal potion to identify the real witch so that I can go ahead now to trap him and then we can see what to do?" http://www.cnn.com/2008/WORLD/africa/06/12/kenya.witches/index.html Do you think there will ever be a time when this sort of tragic horrible thing will NOT exist anywhere in the world? Do you think that the mob who did this is actually ok with what they've done, that maybe they think they are doing gods work or something? OR do you feel maybe this is a vendetta of some kind....Either way should legal action be taken?

That is scary, and absolutely unbelieveable!! If this ever happened to my family, I swear I would declare war on whoeer did it to my loved ones. What an awful thing to have happen. I guess it just goes to sow that some cultures aren't as (dare I say it) civilized as others. It's sad for the more civilizd ciizens who are brought down because of this pratice.

God does not want us to kill.It is a sin to kill.It is God's place to judge and punish these people.

unfortunately.. thats the mindset of ALL of those who do this sort of thing.. theyre doing "gods work". "suffer ye that let a witch live" fear of their own damnations cause people to do such horrific things to their fellow man. too bad common sense and decency isnt what some parents teach their children instead fear of hellfire to get them to behave. ive still got my fingers crossed that SOMEday people will gain some frigen intelligence.

I'm sure they are fine with what they are doing. They probably do think they are doing everyone a favor. I don't think this type of thing will ever end. It's part of the herd mentality, anything different is bad and dangerous. They all think "I believe in ____ and they don't so they are bad people." You can insert any word you want in the blank. I am sure vendetta's do start a lot of it. All it takes is one person mad at another to start a rumor. Then the contagious hysteria starts and like little ducklings the rest of the people fall in line and soon you have a lynch mob. It's sad the way people treat other people.
