Miserable where You Live?

Are you really miserable where you live, but cannot move? I moved to Arizona 2 years ago and really just hate it. The climate and sun is nice with no humidity, but the people are unfriendly, everything is brown, and there is no real cultural activities. Do you have a similar problem? Please help me to adjust??

I moved to florida 3 years ago. While I like FL I don't like what is going on in my neighborhood (see my discussion How would you feel?). I hate my neighborhood love the house we have but hate where it is located. It used to be a nice quiet secluded neighborhood not anymore.

You know..my husband and I moved south to get our children to good colleges in Florida. But I miss New England very much and after they are done with college..I DO want to go back north!(Out of this heat and humidity.) The south is "rednecky" and I am tired of dealing with them. I wish now I had just sent the kids to college in BOSTON! (I miss the snow and autumn leaves!)

"When life gives you lemons, make lemonade". This might work for you if you cannot move from this neighborhood. I learned one thing in my life and that is, where I go I am with me in my skin and I cannot get away from that. I learned to find my happiness inside of me instead of outside. I am sure that if you learn that little trick of being happy inside you will also find a large number of things outside that make you happy.Cheers!!

If the people are unfriendly, you have to try to find someone that is nice amongst all of the bad. You need someone there that you can go to. Maybe it is just the part of town that you are living in--I used to live in a terrible neighborhood. Once I moved out of it, I actually liked Florida.

We moved to this new place three months ago,and have decided to move again. We chose this one because, though smaller, the rent is pegged at what we can afford. The neighborhood was quiet when we checked it out, and I found that really charming. My first impressions were wrong. My first day there was punctuated by a street fight by teen-age kids right outside our door. It's an unsafe neighborhood - I have other street "horror" stories I would rather not dwell on. As to the house, the roof leaks practically all over - I found out only lately this was the reason why the previous tenants left - and the landlord's excuse for not fixing it is, it will entail taking out the whole roof and ceiling. The rent is paid up till the 15th. We just told him we're moving out by the end of the month. He refuses to give us back the one-month deposit (his reason: reimbursement is only for long-term tenants like if we stayed for a year or more), and is demanding that we pay him half-month rental (for the 16-30th). All I want is to move, no matter that it's not financially adviseable for us. If there's a will, there's a way.
