To Buy or Not to Buy: Asus Eee PC

Strange name for a tiny, affordable mini-laptop. But still, I saw a review of the thing on the Attack of the Show on G4. However, i'm interested in buying it since it's less than $1000 dollars. Now that i'm under SSI and earning money every month, it's definitely affordable to me. I don't know much about using Linux, but i'm used to Windows, so I would like to purchase one. Another reason why I want to buy it is because yesterday on June 12, 2008, Clark Howard also uses one. I heard it on the radio while I was outside. All the more reason to get one. But the thing is, I still have second thoughts. I don't want to blow somewhere between $200 to $500 dollars for a wimpy PC that proves to be useless. Is there anyone who already owns an Asus Eee PC on MyLot, and if so, did you have any experiences with it, good or bad?

If you just want to check your mail and some light word processing you should get it. It is not for playing games really. There are few games included but thats it.

Asus Eee PC has a builtin linux OS, but some of my friends encounter hang-ups, even worst when they change the OS to XP.
