I love my name. Not my screen name, but I love that too. My real name is Tarra (pronounced Tar-Ra). And when I was younger I wanted to be like other people and tried to play off my name as simply Tara. Well, it was not until I actually got older and began to realize different is beautiful...and my name is different. And most people compliment me on it, even though I did not choose it.
The history of my name also makes it all the more interesting. Whether you focus on the Irish legend, the plantation in Gone with the Wind (some call it Tara and some call it Tarra), or even the rocky crege (which I might be mistaken but it is a small creek), they all lead to a wonderful story and has historical contexts. Plus, it sounds nice. But if you would have asked me 15 years ago I would have said I want a different name.
So do you know the meaning of your name? What is it and do you feel it fits you as a person?

My name is Jeffrey, I didn't like it when I was a kid because you could make fun of it, I guess you still can, but anyway. I was named after the kid on My Three Sons, funny, because I have two other brothers. I don't mind my name now, it fits me. I usually go by Jeff, and I put it into anything I'm talking about.

You do have a lovely name.
My name is Shannon and I like it as well. My Mom named me after a horse book when she was pregnant because she loved horses so much.

taface, I so agree that you have a beautiful name. I was named sur of the moment, in fact I was to be Gary Franklin in my mothers eye as she never once entertained the fact she could be having a girl again. Being a blond all of my life and having Tammi for my name I think that at times people have not taken me seriously. I have not always been treated as a thinking intelligent woman. Trust me I am! LMAO
My Nick is very special to me and for years I could go anywhere on the internet and never run into another AngelWhispers. A very special friend gave it to me.

so you surprised your mother and came out a girl...LOL
A good friend from college gave me the nickname taface....how fun.
My mother wanted to name me Michelle Lee after the actress, but my father beat her to it. It was a very controversial thing she held in for years....haha I kinda wished they'd compromised....and named me Tarra Michelle...but I am stuck with Colleen.
Hey, Tammi's not a bad name....not too many of them around anymore.
have a great day.

My screenname is fairly obvious. My given name I know about it too. Kind of fits me as a person, but there is more to me than what the meaning of the name describes.

I have not a clue as to the meaning of Patsie but think it
comes from Patricia which means somebody rather aloof
and of high birth which sure does not fit me as I am
neither aloof or of high birth, just an ordinary senior
citizen going about my own life born to farm people eighty
pne years ago. my dad was a country doctor my mom a housewife.
