I like both equally. They both have their pros and cons. A desktop is more versatile as far as the hardware setup goes, making them much easier to configure and repair. Their larger size also enables them to hold more hardware. However, I like the portability of my laptop and take it with me whenever I go out for long periods of time. It makes work so much easier and I can be a lot more productive when I can take whatever I am working on with me when I go out. If I am designing a website, I like to be able to test it on both computers because they do display slightly differently with one having a bigger screen, so it is an asset to have resources available to make the site equally compatible on both... so I don't have a preference, really, as long as I can get my work done, all is cool!

I still much prefer to use a desktop PC. I know i'm in the minority but I don't care. I do have a laptop but I never use it, in fact it's still in my old wardrobe at my dad's house. My PC is a Dell Dimension and my laptop is a Sony Vaio. I don't care for laptops because everything is so small and awkward. I know you just have to get used to everything being downsized but it still annoys me after a while. I can spend ages sat at my PC but nowhere near that long working on a laptop.

I definitely prefer to use a laptop. I love being able to travel with my computer, and take my work with me, instead of being tied to my desk all the time.

I really use both. Laptop would be convenient because you can carry it with you when ever you are. But when I am at home I use the desktop because it has a wider screen and bigger memory. For whatever purpose you use it both will be very useful. However, for wider application like in offices desktop would be preferable.

I have both but I'd rather use the laptop. I can use the laptop even on my bed so finding a place to use the computer is not too difficult. I use my desktop for games though.

I prefer desktops since they're easier and a lot cheaper to upgrade. They have bigger hard drives hence you can put in more applications and programs. I rarely use my laptop at home, I still prefer the bigger screen of my desktop.

i have a desktop, and my b/c has a laptop. he likes the laptop better, and I like the desktop better. I've had the desktop now for a few months. and it was his computer, until he got his laptop, and than gave me his old desktop computer.

Desktops are a lot better in my opinion because they are easier and cheaper to repair and are easier to use as I am obsessed with using a mouse.
