infront of my shop is a store who sell rice, i saw a long line of customers wanting to buy the less price rice that are supported by the government, we call it NFA rice (NFA-national food authority)i felt that they are tired of falling in line but because it is cheaper that the leading brand so they are force to do so. one thing got to my attention is the words written on the cellophane of the rice, i read PGMA which is mean President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo which is obvious that a part of political influence. Gosh what happen to our Politics today.

you know they will be putting their names in everything that they do..even if it is medicine, food, even in relief goods given to people who have been a victim of calamity they will grab this chance to let people know that they are helping..they will also ask for media coverage so that it will be known to everyone that they are helping so the next time they run in election they will show all that they have done..it is as if saying" hey vote me..i have helped during a crisis" st*pid reason!!!

I am really sad about those people and I pity them, I knew that NFA rice is not really of good quality but they have no choice.
By the way, you mentioned a store in front of you is selling NFA rice, does it mean any store could sell now NFA rice? At what price?

That is very interesting. We have noticed the price increase in staple like rice here in the US. We ship a lot overseas and with the increased demand for foods I have noticed that governments are doing sometimes politically motivated things to impress their citizens. It is a shame that it has to be this way.

Hi julyteen. Yes it is the same in all the world. The politicians explore any thing and it is a shame because behinde the food and remedies exist real persons that suffer and they do petty politics with this. It is a shame. But most of the politicians don't care about people and don't have feelings too.
I am worry about the hunger in the world because I know that this can start a new war. People with hunger don't have any more to lose and it is always dangerous.

That's the reality of life here in our country. It's sad that people need to fall in line from long queues just to buy a cheaper price. They wait for long hours not minding the heat of the sun in the middle of the day just to avail of the NFA rice. Life is becoming more difficult nowadays, and we could expect some more price increases in our commodities because of the soaring price of crude oil.
With regards to the plastic bag with the name of the president on it, I guess that's already a sort of campaign strategy from the government to reach the masses. In the coming months, we could expect some more goods that will bear that mark. That's ridiculous I should say, but that's one way for them to campaign for her. The next election is just less than 2 years from now. I just hope we could pick a better leader by that time.
