We were having a discussion at work earlier this week about phrases and words that really get on our nerves, I thought I'd open the discussion up a little to all the people on myLot. To start things off, mine is the word guess-timate. Being someone who likes things to be either black or white, this concept is one I find annoying. I relaise there are times when things have to estimated, but this is done within some paramaters. A guess is just that, nothing but a stab in the dark. So, now it's your turn.

I think for me the most annoying time to have LOL in a conversation is when people start saying LOL in their verbal conversations. I know one person who is always saying it.

I agree with you on this one. After a while you find yourself focusing on the word 'like' rather than the rest of the conversation matter.

I would have to say that it is, "Been there, done that...." It started back about eleven years ago and it just keeps getting worse. It sounds so hick! 24-7 is another phrase that really annoys me. It grates on my nerves like fingernails on a chalk board.

I cannot for the life of me stand when I hear someone say, "Is that really necessary?" It bugs the heck out of me because a really annoying roommate likes to say that off and on and well we find her annoying so we just can't stand it. That pretty much is the only phrase I cannot stand. Thankfully it's not too common so I don't hear it all the time or else I think I'd go crazy.

Can't say I've this one before. What context is it usually used (or abused) in?
